Former British Gurkha soldier Hari Budha Magar has successfully climbed the Mt Everest, the highest peak of the world.

Budha Magar reached atop Mt Everest on May 19 at 3 pm. With this, ex-Gorkha soldier Budha Magar has set a world record for being the first 'double amputee above the knee' to scale the Mt Everest.

Budha Magar climbed the highest peak of the world with the help of a prosthetic leg. After nearly five years of efforts, Budha Magar successfully climbed Mt Everest.

Budha Magar, who hails from Thabang Rural Municipality of Rolpa, lost both his legs above the knee in 2010 during the war in Afghanistan while serving in the British Army.
