An aircraft of Shree Airlines has been suspended due to recurring problems with its nose landing gear.

Gyanendra Bhul, the information officer of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said a Shree Airlines’ aircraft with the call sing 9N-ANE has been grounded over recurring problems with its nose landing gear.

“An aircraft with the call sign 9N-ANE of Shree Airlines has been suspended until its technical problem is resolved,” said Bhul.

The problem with the nose landing gear was noticed with the Shree Airlines aircraft while landing at Dhangadhi airport on May 6.

Similarly, the Shree Airlines aircraft which was heading to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa this morning faced the same problem and was forced to make an emergency landing at Bhairahawa airport itself.

“The nose landing gear of the aircraft failed to fully retract after taking off from Bhairawa. Then the pilot diverted the aircraft and made an emergency landing at the airport itself,” said Bhul.

The aircraft was stuck on the runway after the nose landing gear malfunctioned, according to Bhul. 

Meanwhile, concerned maintenance engineers have been taken off the roster following the recurrence of the nose landing gear problems.

Similarly, the helicopters of Simrik Air have also been grounded. 

A helicopter of Simrik Air had crashed at Bhotkhola in Sankhuwasabha district on Friday, killing a person. 

The chopper met with an accident while it was transporting construction materials to Upper Arun Hydropower Project.
