Ahelicopter of the Nepali Army has reached Mugu from Surkhet to search for the missing people in the avalanche. Three persons from Jumla who went to collect yarsa in Charkhu Lake in Karmarong Rural Municipality-2 of Mugu are missing due to avalanche. Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office (Mugu) Mohan Bahadur Thapa informed that the helicopter of the Nepali Army has reached Mugu from Surkhet to search for the missing persons in the avalanche.
According to him, the helicopter reached Mugu and went to the scene with two security personnel in the first step.
He said, "Despite the helicopter of the Nepali Army reaching Mugu from Surkhet, work is being carried out to bring the security personnel to the spot for searching and rescuing the missing persons. Rescue materials and two security personnel have been taken in the first phase. Now they will go back and take other security personnel.”
The security committee meeting of the Karnali province government held on Sunday decided to send a helicopter to search and rescue the missing persons.
Although the incident took place on May 5 at 2 pm, it is said that the rescue was delayed as the eyewitnesses gave information only on Saturday evening.
Acording to locals, 40-year-old Tara Singh Sarki, 36-year-old Punna Sarki and 36-year-old Bir Bohora of Patarasi-2 Talphiigaun in Jumla went missing in the avalanche.
Their condition is still unknown.
