The Airlines Operators Association has said airfares will go up by six percent from Monday.

The airfare will increase as the air service companies are registered for VAT from July 17.

According to the Association, the price increase imposed by the government will be added to the airfare.

"Airline companies will collect VAT by including it in the airfare effective from July 17," reads the press note.

According to businessmen, this six percent increment will apply to all distances.
