Five people died when a jeep carrying wedding attendants met with an accident in Gorkha on the hours of Friday. Twelve people were injured in the accident.

According to the information given to Nepalkhabar by the District Police Office, Gorkha, the jeep, Province 3-01-023 Ch 2427, met with an accident at Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3 of the district at 2 am today.

The ill-fated jeep was returning home carrying wedding attendants from Ward No. 5 of the same rural municipality, said the DPO.

The identities of the five people who died in the accident have not been ascertained till the writing of this news.

The police said the rescue work for 12 people injured in the accident is underway.

The bride and bridegroom are safe as they were in another vehicle.
